What to expect when seeking mental health treatment at Delta Specialty Hospital
Delta Specialty Hospital’s Behavioral Health services include comprehensive behavioral health and medical assessments provided by a qualified interdisciplinary treatment team. Because our Behavioral Health units are located in a full-service hospital, we can address both medical and behavioral health problems. Family members are included in many aspects of the patient’s treatment and are encouraged to participate throughout the process. This integrated process for determining and prioritizing patient needs includes:
- Admission assessment
- Psychiatric evaluation, including comprehensive mental status examination
- Ongoing nursing assessment
- Medical history and physical examination
- Diagnostic testing and interpretation
- Psychosocial assessment and discharge planning

Our outpatient treatment options for mental health disorders at Delta in Memphis, TN
As we are committed to continuity of care, we have designed two outpatient treatment options from those who don’t need the structure and level of care provided by an inpatient unit but need a higher level of services than provided by traditional outpatient therapy.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) – This treatment provides a similar level of service to our inpatient care but allows you to sleep at home and begin re-assuming responsibilities for your life. Our PHP meets five days a week for a total of 20 hours of services weekly, though this may be adjusted based on your individual treatment plan.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) – This treatment is intended for those who are ready to re-enter their lives and begin integrating back into their homes, jobs, and communities.
